Are you excited for the results?!
The criterias were:
Originality/Creativity:
Is there something new?
More than old traits from her?
Recognition of Amys character:
Can i see her character/personality in the species and mostly in the new design again?
Impact:
Did the design/pose make a big impression on me?
Did the artists drawing style compliment it?
Did the entry gave me a special feeling?
Those are also pretty much based on my taste in the end so i'm okay with some people beeing grim about it. Though it would be nice if you manage to accept my choice of placings. Since i prefer the Sonic style i'm more for simple designs with a certain whiff of charme.
So before i go on to the winners i kind of wanted to let go that i'm very surprised that no one drew Amy as a rose like species and with that i didn't meant a seedrian
but a new plant species introducing rose kinds. Cause that was the very first thing which came to my mind when i had this contest idea. You could have used creativity from a very different angle and it would suit her just as much since her name also ends with rose.
But everyone did a really great job. I added a fourth place too since this was very hard to rate.. So let's see who the winners are and to what extend the criterias were fullfilled.
On to the placings!!

At first it didn't belong to my personal favourites and it was hard to decide but i'm glad that i looked over the entries again because as i rated them all, i realized that this one was pretty matching with Amy after all. It's a simple otter but the implementation of the design is really well done. This was the picture where i could see Amys character the most. Amy isn't just a sweet being. She's also very energetic and a fiery character and even though she is more of a tomboy she starves to be a self-reliant beautiful lady.
I think this entry captures that just fine. Also the clothes are something what i think Amy would most likely wear. It's kinda sporty but still lady-like.
I really love the outcome of this picture.

This picture also made a big impression on me. The implementation of the oppossum species turned out great as well. It really looked like the artist gave it much thought and i love when people are that motivated and try experiments. The outfit from this is probably my most favourite from all it also looks sporty and lady-like something what i think Amy would wear. Though it seems a little to behaving for Amy. That's were the one above did a better job but i still love this the most.
I like how the fur on her head is used in a straight cutted form which also strongly influenced the creativity/originality category.
The art style is remarkable and complimented the design.

This actually was the picture which was meant to be the first place at the start. I loved that heart shaped tail. I loved the head shape. I loved the species idea. And i can imagine having so much fun playing Amy as this species in some underwater game, lol. Though i'm a bit sad that this species idea potential wasn't used to the fullest. The clothes could've used a little more of adventurous passion like in the other entries. In a design the clothes are also really important which forms the characters appearance (especially in Sonic). The bubble patterns on her usual clothes didn't make enough impact on me which also had influenced the creativity feature.
But apart from that this design still matches Amys character a lot. Cute looking in a wild (little) monster species ^^ The idea was adorable!

Even though this isn't in the top three i was fascinated about the fact to use ears as a form of hair to not leave the head so empty. I think the ears replaces her spikes just fine in how they were placed. Really like the redesigned bangs which are more fluffy here. The clothes design was simple yet still good enough and it matched the species theme. It amazes me how simple an entry can get and yet there are still creativity factors. But still the idea didn't really matched Amys character much. She seems too calm and graceful. For an example i can't imagine (from her looks) that this sweet girl can rage as much as the hedgehog lady we all know. But like i said i'm fond of this entry and wanted to feature it on this Journal at least. (Though i'm very sorry i got no more points to award.)
Since i thought giving just points might be a bit too dull i went with a little special sketch for all 4 winners.
I really had fun drawing them ^^ All designs were really nice in their own way.
It's nothing great but i hope you like it.:
But seriously there where so many great hammer designs even though it didn't get rated.
In some cases the focus on the hammer in the entry was way bigger than on the character design itself which made me think:
Is this a piko piko hammer redesign contest or what? xD
That's why i want to mention at least the top 3 hammers down below as a final completion. It would be a waste not to do so.

Loved this technical design of the hammer and the glowing effects!
It looks very awesome. The hammer seemed like a super powerful rare weapon.

The idea was pretty clever. I like the way it makes bell sounds when it gets used.
It also went really nice with the species.

I like the idea that she plays croquet with it in her free time.
The new developed form for the hammer was also really refreshing.
There were others which were pretty good too but those had the most interesting features.
